Description	This technical report describes the implementation of an Ethernet tester called COMET. The COMET is a testing and measuring system based on the COMBOv2 programmable card family. The programmable hardware allows the user to change the functionality of the device. We describe an implementation of the system at speed of 10 Gbps, moreover we discuss necessary changes to migrate to 40/100GE. COMET is able to generate test traffic, analyse incoming traffic and collect some statistical information.
