Description
  • JSGL is an open source, interactive vector graphics library. By encapsulation of underlying technologies such as SVG and VML, the library delivers native cross-browser drawing capability to JavaScript programmers. Development of the library started in 2009, where the basic, non-interactive functionality has been implemented. Using the library, visualization of the GAME artificial neural network construction process has been implemented. In the next two years, website of the library was created and JSGL was published under LGPLv3 license. Within the SGS10/307/OHK3/3T/18 grant, the library has been extended by interactivity in order to allow interactive on-line visualization of hierarchical ensemble models developed in the grant. Providing interactive functionality, along with the well-designed object-oriented API, the library is a powerful tool for creating robust graphics web applications that do not require proprietary, third-party plug-ins. It works on MSIE 6.0+, Firefox 3.0+, Opera 9.0+, Safari 3.0+, and Google Chrome. As of today, the library website has 700 unique visitors from all over the world every month. According to statistics on SourceForge.net, the library has about 25 weekly downloads, proving that is has the capability to serve for various applications in many different fields. In future, we plan to use the library to interactive on-line knowledge flow construction for knowledge discovery, providing our data mining algorithms in a convenient way to the research community.
