Description
  • Our experiments showed that statistically remarkable amount of neutrons flying in radial direction have energy approximately equal to mean energy of neutron from D-D fusion reaction. Mainly from this fact we deduce that statistically great number of fusion collisions are between deuterons flying in direction which is parallel to axis of plasma focus. MCNP simulation showed that the greatest number of scattered neutrons is registered in axial scintillation detector. We see the reason of it in fact that neutrons have to overcome significantly thicker layer of metal when going to probe 1 than going to probes 2 or 3. Replacing steel by aluminium does not reduce number of scattered neutrons. Steel seems to be convenient material for our experimental setup. Our experimental results showed that we can not reject the hypothesis of a realistic model of our simulations.
