  • Zeroth-order resonator (ZOR) as one of the applications of negative phase velocity (NPV) transmission line type has been introduced in several applications [1], among others as a structure for reducing antenna dimensions. For preliminary design of ZOR antennas equivalent models for input impedance calculations has been introduced by several authors [2,3]. However, none of them has considered all components really presented in the model and their proper distribution. Except of right/left handed inductive and capacitive components radiation resistance, radiation losses and mutual inductance of shunt inductors have to be properly taken into account. Their proper location in the equivalent model is the substantial factor for achievement of good agreement of simulated and measured results of input impedance
