  • Planar lightwave circuit (PLC) hybrid integration technology enables us to construct component by combining PLC with passive function and active optoelectronics devices hybridized on a PLC. The contribution is an overview of the PLC hybrid integration technology and describes experiment and simulation, which led to the construction hybrid integrated PLC for optoelectronics information receiving and transmitting. Our optical triplex TRx module has been designed with RSoft simulation programs and constructed using a polymer PLC hybrid integration technology. The transceiver module consists of a planar optical epoxy polymer waveguides with a volume holographic grating triplex filter, surface-illuminated photodetectors and spot-size converted Fabry-Pérot laser diode in SMD package. An optical TRx module transmits a 1310 nm radiation upload and receives a 1490 nm download data as well as a 1550 nm download digital video signals for wavelength division multiplexing WDM cable TV application.
