Description
  • Several applications of embedded vision systems have been developed at the Laboratory of videometry, Dept. of Measurement, FEE CTU. The last one is the smart camera based on DSP Blackfin, which has been designed to perform various measurements mainly in industry area. This contribution presents an expansion module that enables the connection of two image sensors to the camera signal processing main board and also includes additional communication interfaces -- ethernet and galvanic isolated RS232 and RS485 drivers. An interesting method of connection the image sensors to DSP interface through CPLD is described in the contribution. The sensors capture the scene simultaneously and the image data are downloaded into the DSP memory (having only one input interface) in a time multiplex.
