Description	Existing knowledge model of VCDECIS application developed in the Topic Maps formalism had to be updated in order to be utilized in IRIS project. Together with updating the model itself, we have designed and implemented a transformation of its representation into an ontology in the OWL language. The designed transformation overcomes the former drawbacks caused by the original way of modeling. The new OWL-based representation offers additional possibilities including the utilization of reasoning using inference, which enables to partly replace the former scripts in the presentation layer.
