Description
| - In this contribution, the prototype of the new hyperthermia system based on time-reversal focusing method is presented. The system is designed for a broad frequency range, between 300 MHz to 1 GHz. The optimal frequency for a specific treatment is dependent on the tumor positioning and size. The second advantage of the present system is that it can be used for single frequency operation as well as for gaussian pulses. The main purpose of the prototype is to validate the feasibility of the time reversal planning method by experiments on phantoms of biological tissues and animals. After replacement of power amplifiers by more powerful ones, the system will be used for the treatment of the Head and Neck region and extremities.
