  • We want to evaluate performance of two experimental NDE (Nondestructive evaluation) systems, eddy current and EMAT (Electro-Magnetic Acoustic Transducer). The both of them want to be applied in aircraft maintenance and the both of them search for flaws beneath the tested object surface. Each one has an advantage that they don´t need direct contact with the specimen. With the development of these diagnostic methods we want to deal with corrosion detection. We want to be able to test hardly accessible sides of aircraft structures without dismounting or special preparation of the surface. We tested aluminum plate with cracks built from the same material as is used for airframe. We made a study of the probes sensitivity.

  • Tento článek se zabývá porovnáním dvou experimentálních systémů pro hledání vad v materiálu. Byly srovnány možnosti použití sondy EMAT a systému postaveného na vířivých proudech. Oba tyto systémy jsou zamýšleny pro nasazení při testování leteckých konstrukcí se záměrem hledat vady pod povrchem. Výhodou těchto systémů je bezkontaktní měření. Tento výzkum je zaměřen i na zkoumání koroze. Výsledkem by měl být systém, který je schopný diagnostikovat těžko dostupná místa na draku letadla a bez nutnosti odmontování je zkoumat. Simulované vady byly vyhotoveny do hliníkového vzorku. Studie se zabývá citlivostí a rozlišením zkoumaných sond. (cs)
