Description	Příspěvek přibližuje roli informatiky v matematickém modelování, pěstovaném ve Středisku aplikované matematiky Ústavu geoniky AVČR, přičemž se zaměřuje na dvě oblasti: V první části na jeho zajištění výpočetní technikou, kde podává přehled počítačových systémů, které modelování provázely od vzniku střediska (a ústavu) až do současnosti, a připomíná vliv rychlého vývoje této techniky (počítačů, sítí) na vytvářené programové vybavení i praktické simulace. Druhá část je věnována technikám optimalizace řešičů pro matematické modelování, kde usilujeme o zvýšení jejich efektivity maximálním využitím znalostí o fungování moderních počítačů obecně i o konkrétní cílové platformě. (cs) The Institute of Geonics (IG) of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is since the early eighties of the last century deeply involved in mathematical modelling, which is focused, in accordance with the scientific orientation of the Institute, on phenomena that are related to human activities in the Earth crust. Thus, the objects of mathematical simulations, performed at the Division of Applied Mathematics (DAM) , are various complex constructions in the rock mass, such as mines, underground openings, tunnels, nuclear waste repositories, etc. Mathematical modelling of this kind is a multifaceted issue naturally involving mathematics, physics, geomechanics and other theoretical fields of study. The Institute of Geonics (IG) of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is since the early eighties of the last century deeply involved in mathematical modelling, which is focused, in accordance with the scientific orientation of the Institute, on phenomena that are related to human activities in the Earth crust.
