Description
  • High precision and high dynamics are one of the main requirements for the feed axes of Machine Tools. Feed axes are usually controlled by a cascade feedback control consisting of current and velocity loops with PI controllers and position feedback loops with P controler. In case the ball screw is used as a drive of the feed axis, the available gains and time constants in the velocity and position loop depend especially on the modal properties of that drive.
