Description
  • The given paper is closely connected with the investigation of the structural changes for selected material which is exposed to the thermal shocks. The investigated material was supposed to be used in such industrial sphere where it has to withstand extremely high temperatures. The heating of the selected material was simulated under the specified conditions to optimize the structure of the given material loaded thermally. On the basis of this simulation, it was possible to specify the first one initiation of the failure. Toolox 33 is the material which was the subject of our investigation and this material was compared to Dominial ZF2 which is commonly used for manufacturing of moulds in the glass industry. From the economical aspect, there was the proposal that Toolox 33 could be used as replacing material of Dominial ZF2. According to this proposal, it was necessary to perform a lot of investigations in relation to the structural changes of the given tested material. The attention was paid to the microstructure imperfections because these imperfections represent the first initiation of the failure. On the basis of the experiments and obtained results, the material Toolox 33 is not recommended to be used for manufacturing of moulds in glass industry.
