Description
  • This paper presents a method of manufacturing of plasma ionization grid with fine strut dimensions. Design of the ionization grid combines fine struts and large open square spaces in ratio 60:400 mm enabling ionized gas flow through the grid. To increase grid heat resistance the molybdenum sheet was used as a grid row material. This paper focuses on problems of electrode wear and electrode shape formation during Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) of the grid. Next we determined the smallest achievable grid struts thickness of the molybdenum sheet of thickness 160 mm.
