Description
  • This article deals with the simulation of the fluid flow in the stirred curved bottom vessels equipped by three curved blade impeller. Power number and Impeller flow rate number are dimensionless characteristic of the system determined from simulation results and compared with approachable experimental or literature data. The model of described system was created in the convetional program Gambit and Fluent. The system is solved for two designs - for unbaffled vessel and baffled vessel. The vessel is filled with water and the impeller speed is 100 min-1. Three turbulent models were used for solution: k-epsilon, k-omega and RSM. The results were compared with experimental of literature data. K-epsilon model showed the smallest demands of processor time, and the results were satisfactory in comparison with experimental data. The created model provides complex information about the characteristics of the system.
