  • The report deals with the evaluation of Coffin test of thermo-mechanical fatigue of cast iron GJSA-NiSiCr-35-5-2 and its application in predicting the lifetime of cyclical thermally stressed structures (turbine casing). The lifetime curve is evaluated from the fatigue test as the dependence of %22average%22 mechanical strain range on cycles to failure. The general usage of such thermo-mechanical fatigue tests for real structure is problematical, when the temperature field distribution or stiffness not corresponds to test conditions. The report describes the procedure for determining localized lifetime curves combining numerical simulation tests with the experiments. Lifetime curve determined in this way is suitable for general use. The report also contains material properties for simulation and verification calculation of the turbine casing TCR 16 lifetime.
