Description
  • Investigation of the surface properties of titanium alloy Ti-39Nb and its dependence of the thermo-mechanical treatment by metallographic methods and microanalysis (chemical mapping) is carried out to describe substrate behavior before subsequent passivation. Forging makes grains and dendrites finer wherewith decreasing of surface energy and increasing of hardness. Also, the stable oxide layer is formed after exposure of the aloy to the water and microplastic deformations during the grinding process.
