Description
  • This paper deals with uni-axial test of three dental composites. As observed in available literature, elastic moduli measured in tension are generally higher than those measured in compression. These findings are confirmed by this study. For all examined materials, the compressive modulus is lower than the tensile one, thus the results do qualitatively well agree with those, obtained from literature. Besides the moduli, other phenomena such as ultimate and yield strength are discussed. Results are compared with results previously obtained by previous FE simulation. Influence of measurement method as well as certain microstructural phenomena on measured elastic moduli is discussed.
