Description
  • The paper presents the new approach for numerical simulation of species chemical transformation during combustion. Classic kinetic scheme is combined with equilibrium one in the cases of abnormally fast chemical reactions. In this way, serious computational issues, like equation system stiffness on one hand or numerical instability on the other one, are settled. The proposed procedure is verified for the case of hydrogen combustion described by reaction mechanism consisting of 23 in parallel running generally reversible reactions. Functional chemical transformation sub-model is going to be implemented into the multi-zone model of combustion to treat the chemical processes in the flame and post-combustion areas.
