  • Evaluation of uniaxial thermomechanical fatigue (TMF) test of cast iron GGG SiMo 4.05 is presented. The rod specimen is fixed into Coffin apparatus and cyclically heated and cooled until the rupture. The mutual approach of specimen's ends is measured. The dependence mechanical strain range - cycles to failure is obtained. Temperature along the specimen isn't constant in the same time. Evaluated strain is %22average%22. The general usage of such tests is problematical. It was proposed methodology that generalizes the results of such TMF tests. The principle of this methodology is finite element simulation of real test. Local strain range is determined in the middle of the specimen. This is the typical location of the rupture. Computed local mechanical strain range is assigned to experimentally obtained cycles to failure. Localized lifetime curve is obtained. The proposed methodology allows the evaluation of TMF test on Coffin apparatus for more general application.
