Description
  • Pixel testing bi-stave was prepared for the future tests of the evaporative ATLAS cooling system performance with the coolant mixture. The bi-stave is composed from two staves that are connected by one %22U%22 connector. The pixel modules are replaced by platinum heaters - 13 heaters per stave - that have similar properties regarding the delivered power. The temperatures along the stave are monitored by a set of 29 NTC temperature sensors. The sensors are glued in the middle of each heater, to the inlet/outlet pipe and on the %22U%22 profile. Inlet and outlet pressure of the coolant are measured by highly precise pressure sensors. The bi-stave is placed on a supporting stainless steel U profile frame that is placed together with the stave into the protective aluminum cylinder.
