  • This work deals with nanoindentation of dental composites. The aim of this work is twofold. First, it tries to compare the moduli, obtained by nanoindentation with the tensile and compressive ones. Second, it maps the elastic moduli for separate phases of composites. Three commercial composite materials have been subjected to experiment. The samples are of cylindrical shape (Ø6x12 mm), identical to those of samples subjected to compressive experiments.The first, average values of reduced moduli and indentation hardness for all three samples have been obtained (Table 1.). The second, values of reduced moduli and indentation hardness have been measured for specifically selected places containing particles, their interfaces, as well as the values of the sites containing the particles with the matrix. The third, obtained results are discussed, with respect to values, obtained previously by uniaxial compressive and tensile test.
