Description
| - The DCS system was prepared as an expansion of the DAQ system used for the commissioning of the TOTEM Roman Pot detectors. The system was developed on the PVSS II, ver 3.6, SCADA platform and it provides easily adjustable GUI objects with possibility of remote multi-user access for the visualization, parameterization and automation of the cooling process control. The systems high level control architecture is SERVER-CLIENT oriented with two levels of the user access rights (OBSERVER, ADMINISTRATOR). The main areas controlled by the system are the environment within the RP and the state of their cooling plant. Necessary data are obtained from different types of temperature, pressure and flow-meter sensing elements. The system manages in summary communication with five ELMB units, up to 256 sensor readings and one ELMB DAC. The TESCOM dome-loaded pressure regulators, back pressure regulators and electromagnetic valves were selected for the instrumentation of the cooling plant.
