Description
| - An experimental device has been made that enables measuring of the performance characteristics of internal combustion microturbines with output capacities up to 25 kW. The device allows for measuring and smoothly regulating the reaction torque of the turbine. At the same time, static pressure and temperature before and after the internal combustion turbine, the amount of fuel consumed, and the amount of air taken in can be measured. For measurements in enclosed spaces, the device is fitted with a high-performance device for exhausting combustion products outside the building. The tested microturbine has an output capacity of 6 kW at an output speed of 7,500 rpm. Aviation kerosene is the fuel used. Simultaneous measurement of the consumption and the output curves enables determination of the optimal working point of the entire turbine set.
