Description	The effect of vessel size onto flocculation kinetics of clay slurry was investigated in three baffled tanks of diameter 0.15, 0.20 and 0.30 m agitated with a Rushton turbine. Based on literature review and our previously published results the scale up criteria for flocculation were formulated. The proposed scale-up rules were successfully verified experimentally. It was found that the flocculation efficiencies for vessels of the diameters 0.20 and 0.30 m are practically the same, for D = 0.15 m the efficiency is slightly lower, probably due to various hydrodynamic conditions in the impeller region.
