Description
  • Experiment based compressor map consists in pressure ratio or isentropic efficiency in dependence on reduced mass flow rate at constant reduced speed. It is described by the best fitting functions and parametrized. Original method of compressor map approximation by rational polynomial function. It estimates the states of pressure ratio < 1 and efficency (using Euler turbine theorem) for the interval surge limit - choke limit. It si especially suitable for 1-D engine simulation. The results are suitable for extrapolation to very low pressure ratios (even less than 1) and may be used in 1-D engine simulations, especially at transient operation. SAE Paper 2006-01-0659
