  • This work deals with a numerical solution of a transonic flow through radial and axial turbine cascades based on 2D inviscid, 2D viscous and on 3D inviscid flow models. The 2D SE1050 turbine cascade was chosen as a test case for numerical methods. The results achieved by use of several numerical schemes and grid types are compared with experimental data. Suitable properties of proposed methods are numerically tested and validated. Results of computations of transonic flow in a rotor cascade of a radial turbine stage are presented. Since there are no experimental data available, the flow in such stages can be studied only numerically. Numerical results achieved by different flow models, by in-house and commercial software are compared. Next a 3D transonic flow through cascades of the last low pressure (LP) steam turbine stages has been computed.
