Description
  • When producing concrete with a proportion of recycled concrete is mainly used the coarse fraction. This study explores the possibility of mechanical activation of recycled concrete. Thus it would be possible to utilize even a fine fraction, the use of which is at present limited by reasons of its negative impact on characteristics of the resulting concrete. Prerequisite for the activation of the material is the content of a certain proportion of non-hydrated cement in concrete recyclate. The aim of the study is to determine the appropriate method of the activation and the probable properties of micronized concrete recyclate. Based on the research concern with the activation of different additives it can be assumed that replacements within 30% of the cement does not occur fundamental deterioration of the strength characteristics of concrete mixture and that will accelerate the increase of ultimate strength. Current methods of mechanical activation still in laboratory conditions appears to be costly. Therefore remains to find a suitable way of mechanical activation in order to cost savings when replacing cement.
