Description
  • The article concerns itself with containment of a nuclear power plant, i.e. structure which makes the last barrier preventing radioactive substances from entering the environment. Firstly, the design of prestressed concrete containment is considered for the loading case derived from the design basis accident, so called LOCA (Loss Of Coolant Accident). Then, the tendon design of walls and dome is shown with regards to the service lifetime of the structure and it is followed by the stress assessment including non-uniform warming of cross sections during accident. Lastly, the design is verified taking into consideration acceptance criteria.
