Description	Glass can be effectively combined with another material and optimal interaction of both materials can be found. The paper deals with the different possibilities of construction and static scheme of steel-glass composite beams, consisting of steel flanges and glass web bonded together by polymer adhesive. If the glass beam is longer than approximately 6 metres, the web has to be divided into several parts and the behaviour of that structure is completely different in comparison with the beam, where the web is composed by the single piece of glass.
