Description
  • Optimum design of shear connection between steel truss and concrete slab is the main purpose of this paper. Numerical approach is based on 3D materially non-linear analysis using ANSYS software package, with experimental verification of the modelling. Following parametrical investigation concerns the elastic distribution of the shear flow corresponding to design level of bridge loading and Eurocode 4 approach. Parametric studies and an attempt of optimum design are demonstrated, resulting in recommendations for practical design.
