Description	The northern Bohemian coal basin has been largely excavated in the second half of 20th century. It contains large areas of open mines; the oldest ones are already recultivated. In addition, it also contains some smaller deep mines. The mining is performed very close to the slope of the Ore Mountains. Both mine types present a danger of subsidence or even landslides. In addition, in 1980s, there was a road, railway and pipelined river built on the waste dump, and although the subsidence is now only in centimeters per year, it is still subsiding. The area is monitored in two projects: one uses data from ERS-1 and ERS-2 acquired in the 1990s, using the PS method, and the other one uses corner reflectors installed at critical places of the area and monitored by ERS-2 and ENVISAT in 2008-2010. The number of ENVISAT images is very small, and the only way is to use data acquired by ERS-2, in spite of its high Doppler centroid variations.
