Description
  • Concrete is the most used material in the building structures therefore optimization of concrete structures can lead to the significant environmental savings. New composite high performance silicate materials could be used for construction of stronger, more durable and at the same time slender %22shell%22 structures, enabling design with significantly reduced use of materials and leading to reduction of environmental impacts associated with the use of primary natural sources and with depositing and recycling of the structure at the end of its life cycle. The complex LCA and LCC of optimized HPC structures would show not only environmental benefits, but also the cost efficiency - in spite of the fact that HPC is more expensive and has higher values of unit embodied parameters.
