Description
| - The recent rapid increase in the capability of computers and increasingly user-friendly software had led to a proliferation in the use of numerical analyses in design of underground structures. One important fact is often overlooked. No matter how sophisticated a numerical model is, it is only an aprroximation of the real case. The proposed research project is to optimize the implementation of numerical calculations of underground structures to achieve maximum compliance with reality. The results of research should be recommendations for designers of underground constructions using numerical modeling with regard to the application software and input data. Each part of the research will be devoted to general principles of numerical modeling, constitutional relations, input parameters and modeling experiences with conventional driven tunnels (NRTM and ADECO - RS). The resulting treatment of the issue could also be used as a basis for the future methodology.
