Description
  • This paper presents an alternative to the classical approach of material parameters estimation or curve fitting problems. The purpose of the paper is to determine whether the more common single-objective or the multi-objective way is better with respect to a given criterion. The comparison is demonstrated on two artificial curves with known mathematical formula to assess the accuracy. Then one real problem, particularly the fitting of a curve describing the time-heat relationship during the cement paste hydration process, is investigated. Three approaches are discussed: a pure single-objective optimization, a multi-objective problem transformed into the single-objective one using a weighted sum method and a multi-objective optimization.
