Description	Optimization of material consumption is one of the basic approaches applied in the development process of new types of structures, respecting requirements of sustainable construction. New composite high performance silicate materials could be used for construction of more strong, more durable and at the same time slender structures. The application of HPC and UHPC is more frequent in engineering structures, such as bridges. However, in building structures there is also a good chance to reduce environmental impacts and simultaneously to increase structural reliability and safety by the use of new types of high performance concretes. (en) Optimalizace spotřeby konstrukčních materiálů je jedním ze základních požadavků při návrhu nových konstrukcí respektujících požadavky udržitelné výstavby. Nové kompozitní vysokohodnotné silikátové materiály mohou být využity pro pevnější, trvanlivější a zároveň štíhlejší konstrukce. Aplikace vysokopevnostních a ultra-vysokopevnostních betonů je častější v inženýrských konstrukcích, jako jsou např. mosty. Nicméně příležitost redukovat environmentální dopady a zároveň zvýšit spolehlivost a bezpečnost konstrukcí užitím nových typů vysokohodnotných betonů je i v konstrukcích pozemních staveb. (cs)
