Description
  • In this contribution, we examine the potential of the generalized Mori-Tanaka method for the modeling of overall elastic properties of balanced plain weave fabric composites. To increase the accuracy of the simplified modeling procedure, we propose to determine internal parameters of the Mori-Tanaka scheme such that it optimally approximates accurate results by the Finite Element method-based first order homogenization. Finally, we discuss the applicability of the proposed modeling strategy to the analysis of real-world C/C composites showing tow path imperfections.
