Description
  • In this contribution the influence of casting procedure in layers together with application of H-Krystal catalyst on water tightness and volume stability of concrete structures of considerable thickness is investigated. Proposed procedures are verified by both the numerical and physical experiments. Reaching the volume stability results in the significant reduction of crack evolution. The compact concrete therefore provides protection for reinforcement, and so these structures can also be used in an aggressive environment. The goal of this work is to propose a methodological approach ensuring the highest possible reduction of crack evolution and yielding watertight concretes. The main causes of crack evolution in an early stage of concrete are the hydratation heat and shrinkage.
