Description
  • Silicate protecting layers as one of recognized concrete protection measures are considered cheap and effective against water penetration during the whole service life of concrete structure. However, the properties of such protecting layers for different concrete substrates are only rarely studied in detail. In this paper, hydric properties of a new silicate protection including water absorption and water vapor diffusion are analyzed. The chloride solution transport and storage properties are studied as well, and the differences in water and chloride solution transport are discussed.
