  • Cadmium penetration into a sandy-loam soil during the field ponded infiltration at Kralovska luka site in Southern Slovakia was observed in a controlled experiment. Transport of cadmium adsorbed on soil particles < 0.01 mm was examined using radioactive tracer techniques in laboratory batch tests. Quite deep 115Cd penetration (65 cm beneath the soil surface) gives evidence of the particle-facilitated transport of cadmium through preferential pathways. More than 40% of the applied cadmium penetrated deeper than 10 cm. The field experiment was analyzed using both conventional single-permeability approach (based on Richards' equation for water flow and advection-dispersion equation for solute transport) and dual-permeability approach. The latter approach allowed us to simulate more adequately the particle-facilitated transport. The simulation results obtained with the dual-permeability model show close agreement with the measured cadmium penetration.

  • Průnik kadmia v hlinitopísčité půdě v průběhu výtopového experimentu v lokalitě Kráľovská lúka (Slovensko) byl měřen radioaktivní metodou. Obdobnou metodou byl zjišťováno i množství kadmia adsorbovaného na částice menší než 0.01 mm během laboratorní adsorpční zkoušky. Poměrně hluboký průnik kadmia (65 cm pod povrchem) je známkou transportu kadmia adsorbovaného na koloidní částice v síti preferenčních cest. Více než 40% aplikovaného kadmia proniklo hlouběji než 10 cm. Terénní experiment byl vyhodnocen tradičním přístupem založeném na řešení Richardsovy a advekčně-disperzní rovnice a přístupu využívající existenci dvou pórových systémů (duální permeabilita). Model s duální permeabilitou nám navíc umožnil simulovat pohyb vázaného kadmia na půdní částice. Výsledky které poskytuje model duální permeability vykazují velmi dobrou shodu s měřeným průnikem kadmia. (cs)
