Description
Změna originálních CT dat obecně vede k oslabení heterogenní struktury a tudíž k nerealistické předpovědi proudění vody. (cs)
  • This contribution aims at evaluating different degree of soil sample heterogeneity with emphasis on resulting water fluxes. Sandy loam soil from Korkusova Hut was subject to CT imaging with high resolution. The three-dimensional distribution of CT-derived porosity within the sample was used in numerical experiments. Voxel porosity was employed for the calculation of the distribution of hydraulic conductivity scaling factor. Water flow through the heterogeneous soil sample was simulated by 3D model based on Richards' macroscopic concept. From our simulations, it follows that the spatial averaging is less appropriate technique, since it alters significantly the original CT data. Generally, reducing the CT acquired information in model input weakens the impact of heterogeneous structures and thus provides less realistic description of the flow in the soil under the study.
