Description
  • One of the most distinguished types of dislocation structure, misoriented cells, is treated as an instability of plastic flow in pre-stressed solids. In the standard (local) approach, the continuum theory predicts an infinitesimally small cell size. To study the mechanisms controlling the finite cell size, selected short-range dislocation interactions have been introduced into a continuum description of dislocation flow: (i) the self-force of curved glide dislocations considered in the line tension approximation (ii) the short range interaction among glide dislocations themselves. Both interactions introduce non-local terms into the theory. Within the proposed framework the size is a result of a compromise: bulk stain and dissipative energy tends to decrease the cell size, while non-local interactions restrict that tendency

Oba mechanismy zavádějí do modelu nelokální efekty.
