Description	An assimilation of radar reflectivity into a numerical weather prediction (NWP) model with a horizontal resolution of 2.8 km is presented and applied to three severe convective events. The suggested assimilation method takes into account differences between the model and radar-derived precipitation in modifying vertical profiles of water vapour mixing ratio in each model time step by the nudging approach. The LM COSMO (Local Model COSMO) –NWP model is used in this study with the explicit formulation of the cloud and rain processes involved. The results show that if the assimilated data indicate initial precipitation near an expected storm, the NWP model is capable of forecasting basic features of the storm development two to three hours ahead. (en) Byla vyvinuta metoda asimilace radarové odrazivosti do numerického modelu předpovědi počasí (NWP model) s vysokým horizontálním rozlišením 2.8 km, která je založena na modifikaci modelového vertikálního profilu směšovacího poměru vodní páry. Navržená metoda byla aplikována na LM COSMO NWP model a byla provedena řada testů s cílem ověřit metodu na předpovědi významných konvektivních událostí z území ČR. Výsledky ukazují, že asimilací dat dochází ke významnému zpřesnění předpovědi ve srovnání se standardním během modelu. Zároveň se ukazuje, že metoda dává přinejmenším srovnatelné výsledky jako standardně používaná metoda asimilace v LM modelu, založena na modifikaci teploty s použitím latentního tepla. Navržená metoda je také výpočetně efektivnější. (cs)
