Description	Schnirchův tympanon (1882-1883) nad proscéniem Národního divadla v Praze je sice okázale antický svou formou i zobrazenými postavami, ale jeho duch je zcela neantický. Apollón na Schnirchově tympanonu ztělesňoval morálku, rozum, civilizaci a historii, Dionýsos nevázanost, přírodu, svobodu a bezčasí mýtu. Nesmiřitelné protiklady přitom nestojí proti sobě, ale vedle sebe, bohyně pozdvihuje vítězný věnec jak na stranu Apollónovu, tak na stranu Dionýsovu. Vítězem není ani jeden z nich, ale oba současně, jako jednota protikladů, jejichž mohutnost je právě v tom, že mezi nimi není žádná hierarchie. Právě tato protikladnost ukazuje na Nietzscheho, který tímto způsobem přehodnotil nejen Dionýsa a Apollóna, ale i vnímání světa vůbec. Bohuslav Schnirchs tympanum (1882-1883) above the proscenium arch of the National Theatre in Prague is ostensibly classical in style and iconography, but wholly un-classical in its spirit. Apollo on Schnirchs tympanum stood for morality, reason, civilization and history. Dionysos stood for unruliness, nature, freedom and mythical timelessness. These irreconcilable rivals, however, do not stand against each other; the goddess of triumph is raising victorious wreaths at Dionysos and Apollos sides. Neither one nor the other is the winner, but rather both; the ultimate winner is the unity of contradictions, which is so strong because there is no hierarchy among its opposing parts. This contradiction points to Nietzsche, who in this very sense reevaluated not only Dionysos and Apollo, but also our perception of world in general. (en)
