  • The contribution is focused on history of Bohemian Forest and its long-term exploitation, which turned it into almost completely cultural landscape consisting of pastures, wood pastures, arable land and managed secondary forests. However during the 20th Century this region turned back to the (socially constructed) nature and at present days Sumava National Park is the crucial battlefield of different conceptions of forest management and nature conservation policy in the Czech Republic.
