Description	Nedostatek železa vyvolává v některých kultivovaných nádorových buňkách apoptózu, zatímco jiné buňky jsou odolné. Cílem této studie bylo přispět k objasnění mechanismů podílejících se na vyvolání buněčné smrti nedostatkem železa v lidských nádorových buňkách. Zaměřili jsme se na aktivaci p53 a na mitochondriální dráhu aktivace kaspáz. Zjistili jsme slabé zvýšení potenciálu mitochondriální membrány jako jedinou změnu v citlivých lidských buňkách způsobenou nedostatkem železa. Proto jsme se rozhodli prostudovat aktivaci výkonných kaspáz (kaspáza-6, kaspáza-7) a možné interakce kaspáz s jejich buněčnými inhibitory (cs) Iron deprivation induces apoptosis in some cultured tumor cells while other cells are resistant. The aim of the study is to contribute to our understanding of the mechanisms involved in cell death induction by iron deprivation in human tumor cells. We focused on p53 activation and on the mitochondrial pathway of caspase activation. We detected a slight increase in the mitochondrial membrane potential as the only change in sensitive human cells due to iron deprivation.
