  • Proteiny kančí semenné plazmy vázající manan (zejm. proteiny AQN 1 a DQH) a jejich agregované formy ukázaly afinitu ke kvasinkovému mananu. Kromě toho bylo ukázáno, že tyto proteiny se vážou na epitel vejcovodů. Vazebnou aktivitu k mananu u kančích proteinů a spermií nejúčinněji potlačoval ovomukoid, ovalbumin a N-glykany uvolněné z ovalbuminu, ale nepotlačovala ji D-glukóza, D-manóza a jejich fosfáty. Na druhé straně kvasinkový manan potlačoval jak vzájemnou reakci kančí semenné plazmy a spermií s heparinem, tak vazbu těchto proteinů na prasečí epitel vejcovodů. Proteiny vázající manan by mohly hrát roli při tvorbě rezervoáru spermií ve vejcovodu u prasat. Schopnost těchto proteinů reagovat jak se složitými sacharidovými strukturami obsahujícími D-manózu, tak s heparinem by také mohla hrát důležitou úlohu v uvolnění spermií z rezervoáru vejcovodu nebo v procesu kapacitace (cs)
  • Heparin-binding proteins from boar seminal plasma (esp. AQN 1 and DQH proteins) and their aggregated forms showed affinity to yeast mannan. Besides that, these proteins were shown to bind to oviductal epithelium. The mannan-binding activity of boar proteins and sperm was inhibited most efficiently by ovomucoid, ovalbumin and N-glycans released from ovalbumin, but not with D-glucose, D-mannose and their phosphates. On the other hand, yeast mannan inhibited both the interaction of boar seminal plasma and sperm with heparin and the binding of these proteins to porcine oviductal epithelium. Mannan-binding proteins might play a role in the formation of the sperm oviductal reservoir in pig. The ability of these proteins to interact both with the complex D-mannose-containing saccharide structures and heparin may also play an important role in the sperm release from the oviductal reservoir or in the capacitation process
