Description	Immunohistochemical analysis of E-cadherin and .beta.-catenin wasperformed in human colorectal cancer as well as in surrounding normal intestinal tissue and also in intestinal tumours and normal intestinal tissues of transgenic mice Apc 1638N. In spite of the differences in tumour histology the expression of both markers was reduced in human as well as in mouse tumours and the staining pattern was frequently heterogenous with strongly positive cells among the negative ones.
