Description	In the present study, we demonstrate that apoptosis induction in sensitive cells by iron deprivation, which results from dose-dependent deferoxamine-transferrin interaction, is significantly affected by the presence of albumin. We hypothesize that the data can be explained by nonspecific binding of albumin. Both nospecific binding to plastic culture ware and to the cell membrane is considered.
