Description	Lower respiratory illness in preschool children is examined in relation to ambient particles and PAHs. The study contained data about 1,133 children from two Czech districts (Teplice and Prachatice) allowed us to conclude: Ambient PAHs and fine particles were associated with early susceptibility to bronchitis. Association were stronger for longer pollutant-averaging periods and, among children < 2 years of age, for PAHs compared with fine particles.
