Description	En 1930, le peintre Zdeněk Rykr, figure singuliere de l'avant-garde tcheque de l'entre-deux-guerres, se mariait avec Milada Součková, poete, prosateur et historienne de la littérature. Rykr illustra deux de ses recueils de poésie: Kaladý aneb Útočiště řeči [Kaladý ou Le refuge du langage] (1938) et Mluvící pásmo [Séquence parlante] (1939). Le premier, un poeme pathétique en prose, une défense de la langue a l'époque de sa mise en péril, est illustré de dessins noirs et blancs dans lesquels Rykr introduisit des références pseudo-baroques (des ordures, de la boue, de la saleté) autour du sens du mot Kal (littéralement: lie, limon, boue), mot contenu dans le titre meme du poeme. Rykr employa des motifs semblables dans des oeuvres qu'il créa en parallele a cette illustration et dans lesquelles il représenta la campagne. Les illustrations du second recueil se distinguent au contraire par leur pureté et leur clarté cosmique au moyen desquelles Rykr s'oriente vers des formes abstraites. In 1930 the painter Zdenek Rykr, a special case in the Czech avant-garde movement of interwar years, married Milada Součková, a poet, prose writer and literary historian. Rykr became the illustrator of her collections of poems Kaladý (1938) and Mluvící pásmo (Talking Zone) (1939). The former, a moving prose poem and a meditation upon the defense of a languague when it is under threat, was accompanied by black and white drawings interspersed with pseudo-baroque quotations, in the style of kal (refuse, mud, filth) acknowledged in the title, and which can also be found in the compositions of the time on rural motifs. In contrast, the conception of his nextcollection of poems is dominated by cosmic purity and clarity, which are developed from abstract forms. (en)
